How does made to order work?

Pick a style from Design Your Own, then choose the leathers, card slot design and thread color. The preview on the product page updates as you choose. Once you order, I cut and hand-stitch your piece in my one-person shop in San Francisco.

How long will it take?

Every piece is made by hand, one at a time, so the wait depends on the current queue. The current turnaround estimate is shown on each product page.

What leathers and threads can I choose?

See Leathers and Thread for every leather and thread color, with notes on how each one feels and ages.

Can I personalize it?

Most pieces can be stamped with short text, like initials, and/or debossed with the Pelican Petes logo. Look for the stamping options on the product page; the preview shows where the stamp goes.

Will my wallet look exactly like the preview?

The preview is a representation. Real leather color varies with the dye lot and with your screen, and every hide has its own character.

Do you have anything ready now?

Yes, when the workbench allows. Finished one-of-a-kind pieces are in Ready to Ship.

I want to make my own. Can you help?

The Digital Build Guides are printable PDFs for the bifold wallet, passport sleeve and inlay coaster. Print them at actual size on 8.5" x 11" paper. Sales of digital guides are final.
